Minimum Experience, Skills & Expectations
Prior kennel experience is preferred, not required, but genuine love and compassion for dogs is a must. We are seeking people who are mature enough to understand and accept the responsibility of caring for other people's furry "children".
Confidence in working with dogs using positive reinforcement and no aversive tools or techniques
Ability to remain mentally alert and on your feet for up to 8 hours a day, in all types of weather. While monitoring free play time, you will be required to remember all the dogs' names and personalities.
Ability to push, pull and lift up to 75lbs frequently
Not afraid to get your hands dirty. Cleaning is a major responsibility when caring for dogs. If you get ill at the idea of cleaning up after dogs, then this is not the job for you.
Organizational Skills are required. You will need to be able to understand and remember what dog gets what food or medication and what dog belongs to which client.
Not afraid of any breed of dog or allergic to dogs.
Dependability is essential. If an employee does not show up, there is not enough staff to provide a safe environment and properly care for the dogs.
Flexibility is required. Days and hours will change due to the number of dogs in house on certain days. You must be able to work some weekends and holidays.
Customer service is a number one priority, which means always greeting clients with a smile and a spirit willing to help. Clients need to know that each of our staff members cares about them and their dogs consistently.
